It has recently come to my attention that WordPress, which is the free blogging platform behind 963, is now putting ads on everybody’s blogs. None of that ad revenue comes to the blogger, and here at 963 we haven’t approved any of those ads – but they don’t ask us if we approve either, and in fact, tell us that if we want to get rid of them so the blog stays free of advertising, we’d have to pay a monthly fee. That’s right, we’d have to PAY to GET RID of ads. (The same thing is being talked about with books, by the way, which have been ads-free for as long as anyone can remember, but that’s a whole other story.)
So – ignore those ads please, and in the meantime, we’ll start looking around for other blogging options. Stay tuned.
