Spring officially starts this weekend, and we’re in for a good spring rain tomorrow, with any luck, which will keep all the little shoots pushing through the soil on their way to becoming tulips, snowdrops and irises.
The cleanup of garden beds has begun, and this year, with any luck, will be the year the backyard starts to come together now that I don’t have to wait to see what’s in the garden beds. I can pull and dig and plant with abandon and am already excited about the local plant sale that’s going to happen around mid-June. Plus Costco’s garden centre opens April 4th here, and that’s not too early to see what interesting plants we can find. Shrubs? Trees? Baskets? Pond plants?
